Art of painting

Artist Bio

From my earliest days as a child, I found myself perpetually engrossed in the world of doodles and paintings, and this affinity for the arts has remained unwavering throughout my life's journey. Upon entering college, I made the deliberate decision to immerse myself in the study of the History of Fine Arts as my major, complemented by a minor in painting. Though my trajectory eventually veered towards the realm of design due to the array of career prospects it offered, my passion for painting persisted beneath the surface for years.

Following an extensive stint in web design and marketing, I eventually transitioned into the role of an educator at the San Jose Museum of Arts. This transformative experience rekindled my desire to wield the paintbrush once more, but it wasn't until my relocation to Portland that this reawakening truly materialized. Embracing membership in OSA and partaking in their enriching classes seamlessly connected me with a vibrant community of artists in this city. This pivotal juncture marked the commencement of a dedicated recommitment to painting, emboldening me to venture into diverse mediums and subject matters.

My artistic inclinations tend to lean towards realism, though I often venture into the realm of expressive artistry. This dichotomy allows me to alternate between meticulous detail and swift, vivid impressions coupled with saturated hues. Among the gamut of mediums at my disposal, I find myself most drawn to the poetic fluidity of watercolors, the versatile charm of gouache, and the timeless allure of oils.

In recent years, I've successfully harmonized my passion for the fine arts with the realm of graphic design. Over the course of the past year and a half, my journey led me to join OSA, where I took on the role of Marketing and Accounts Coordinator. This opportunity has afforded me the chance to rejuvenate my graphic design and marketing prowess. The experience has been exceptionally rewarding as I've delved into crafting printed collaterals, crafting weekly newsletters, and immersing myself once again in the art of webpage design and management. Notably, I've contributed to the development of both the gallery and school websites (www.osartists.org and www.osagallery.org).

At this juncture of my career, my aspirations are two-fold: to continue my path in graphic design while nurturing my rekindled artistic journey. The goal is to seamlessly weave these two facets together, finding a perfect equilibrium between my work in graphic design and my pursuit of artistic expression.
